Oral Sedation

Murphy Family Dental offers oral sedation in addition to anesthetic injections which numb the tooth and prevent pain during the procedure.

Oral sedation is often used to calm the patient and relieve anxiety. We offer a mixture of oxygen and nitrous oxide (laughing gas), administered through a mask, and closely monitored by the doctor. We also offer a combination of prescription medications in pill form which, when combined, have a relaxing affect.

A relaxed patient makes it easier for the doctor to work, and with each successive pain-free procedure the patient’s confidence grows.  The choice is yours, but if you have any concerns about anxiety talk to your doctor about oral sedation.  We’re happy to do what we can to make your experience here as stress free as possible.
